Do you have a set feeding time or do you let your cat(s) graze all day?

Recommended Posts

Our Alice and Missy have a set wet food feeding time. They get fed breakfast at 10am and dinner at 10 pm. We also let them graze kibble all day long. Which is not a problem because they don't over eat. How about you? Do you have a set feeding time or do you let your cat(s) graze all day?

Ours let us know when they are hungry, we tend to feed them when they ask.

If we did that, our girls would want wet food 24/7 lol. But we do feed them if they ask for it, if it's close to 10am or 10pm. Which doesn't happen too often.

I would keep them on a set feeding time, just so they don't really wake someone up in the middle of the night hungry.

A set feeding time does work, Alice and Missy almost never asked to be fed before it's time for them to eat.

When we had Smokey, we would have set times of when we woke in the morning, when we ate lunch and when we ate dinner which she would be fed with treats and some point throughout the day.

She used to eat her food slowly so in some cases, it would be available all the time for her but she would only be given three meals a day.

It's nice to have them on a set schedule, can show if something is wrong if they don't stick with it.

That's for sure because it keeps them from begging all the time. They are used to what time they eat and know that they are going to be fed at that time every day. 😾
